Digital Temperature Controllers Expand PPR Welding Options

The controllers are built around a PTC heating element and a digital LED display that shows the working temperature in real time. Each digital temperature controller board connects to the heating unit through a fixed terminal layout, with a constant-temperature control mode designed to hold the set point during continuous welding cycles. Buttons on the board (2-key, 3-key, or 4-key depending on the version) handle temperature adjustment and mode switching without requiring a separate control panel.

Circuit type is the main variable across the range. Resistor-capacitor (RC) boards use a simpler analog circuit and are typically selected for lower-cost equipment builds. Chip-based boards run on a microcontroller and support tighter temperature tolerances along with additional safety logic. Transformer-type boards step down and isolate the control circuit from the main AC input through a transformer, an approach some factories prefer for added electrical safety margin.
